The work-shy but shrewd Karl Häfale runs a run-down farm with his wife Hilde. There is not enough money to go around, and yet Hilde dreams of a finca on Malle. Just as Mrs. Wucherer from the tax office is about to collect the tax debts once again, the old tractor breaks down. The situation seems hopeless. But then there's Andy, the smart neighbor's son, who has his eye on the pretty but somewhat dim-witted daughter Fini. She dreams of a career as a model. When a manager lands his car in a pile of dung on his way back from a self-discovery seminar for managers, Andy has a brilliant business idea. He now wants to organize similar seminars on the farm. Karl reluctantly agrees, but only if nothing is reported to the tax office. And so the chaos takes its course...
